Year 11 GCSE Summer Series 2024 Exam Timetable
The GCSE Summer Exam Series will run from Thursday 7th March until Wednesday 26th June 2024.
Contingency Days
The following contingency days have been timetabled by the awarding bodies:
Thursday 6th June - PM
Thursday 13th June - All day
Wednesday 26th June - All day
These contingency days are designed to be used in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations. Candidates need to be available for each contingency sessions in case their exam is rescheduled to one of these dates.
Public Examination Start Times
Morning exams at Â鶹´«Ã½ start at 9.00am and the afternoon sessions start at 1.00pm. Students will need to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the examinations. Please note that for some students the afternoon exam sessions may finish after the end of the college day and any students who are normally provided with home to school transport will have to make their own arrangements.
Absence
Any candidate who is deliberately absent from an examination, which he or she is due to take, will be liable for the cost. Justifiable absence must be explained by a parental note without delay. In cases of illness, any student who wishes this to be taken into account by the Exam Board, should submit a doctor’s note (if possible) to enable the Exams Office to apply for a Special Consideration.
Dress Code
Students will undertake examinations in full school uniform.

RESULTS DAY
Each exam series (November, January and June) has its own results day.

For the summer series of exams, if any students is unable to collect their statement of results on the day, the student MUST email the Exams Officer to give permission to nominate another individual to collect the results on their behalf. This individual must produce photo ID before we can release the results.
External Candidates
Please note that Christ's College Guildford does not take external candidates for exams.
We recommend that you contact the relevant exam board who should be able to provide a list of centres which do take external candidates.
Exam Certificates
After the Summer GCSE exam period, exam awarding bodies will send certificates after the completion of the Review of Results process. These are normally sent to Christ's College during November.
Students who will have the opportunity to collect their certificates at an Awards Evening held in November There will also dates in December and January where certificates can be collected.
- Ex-students are required to bring photo ID when collecting.
- Ex-students may nominate another individual to collect on their behalf but MUST advise the Exams Officer in advance in writing/email (using their own personal email address). The nominated person must also bring photo ID.
Please do not turn up to College to collect certificates outside the advertised dates without contacting the Exams Officer. To book a pick up time please email exams@christscollege.surrey.sch.uk
Certificates will normally only be kept for a period of one year, then they could be securely destroyed in accordance with JCQ regulations. Please be aware that some Exam Boards do not offer a replacement certificate service.
